Nigel is a Partner whose particular interests include structuring international businesses in a tax efficient manner, both privately owned and quoted public companies. He has lectured widely on international tax matters including transfer pricing, intellectual property structures and the use of trusts in domestic and international tax planning. He is an expert in the valuation of shares and other intangible assets and has given evidence in court as an expert witness on a number of occasions. He also advises a number of well-known entertainers and sportsmen.

He qualified as a chartered tax adviser in 1965 and won the Fellowship examination prize. He also won prizes in the examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Chartered Certified Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Nigel has written or contributed to more than 160 books on taxation and was voted LexisNexis tax writer of the year in 2003. BDO's Yellow Tax Guide and Chiltern's Orange Tax Guide originally conceived and still edited by Nigel are now in their 31st and 21st year of publication respectively and are published by LexisNexis Butterworths as companion volumes to their Yellow and Orange Tax Handbooks.
