BDO’s Pensions Advisory team provides the following defined benefit pensions advisory services to Trustees, Employers and overseas Parents:
1. EMPLOYER COVENANT Identifying, Calibrating and Monitoring the Scheme's most important asset
Using our Employer Covenant Vector© framework we assess the Position, Prospects and Power of the Employer in accordance with the Pensions Regulator’s guidance for the purposes of Scheme Specific Funding negotiations, Pre and Post transaction assessment, multi-employer restructurings, analysis of mitigation and funding solutions proposals and ongoing monitoring of the Employer Covenant.
For further information, see our flyer: EMPLOYER COVENANT.
2. PENSION RESTRUCTURING Giving you options along the Pension Control Chevron©
Using our Pension Control Chevron© framework we identify options for both corporate and trustee clients as to how best restructure the funding and/or legal relationship between the Employer and the Scheme. Our solutions include the use of debt and equity based funding solutions (using our prioprietary PenCapT© structure) and, in extreme circumstances, compromise agreements and insolvency led solutions to legally separate the Employer and the Scheme.
For further information, see our flyer: PENSION RESTRUCTURING.
3. PENSION STRATEGY Introducing the Chief Pensions Officer©
We use our Pension Risk Quadrants© framework to assess four key pension risk factors (Scheme Liabilities, Employer Covenant, Scheme Assets and Governance) in the context of the Employer and Trustee agendas and provide strategic pensions advice via our Chief Pensions Officer© function to help you define and implement your pension strategy, including M&A transactions and corporate restructuring, pension funding, liability risk management and run-off planning.
For further information, see our flyer: PENSION STRATEGY.
4. PENSIONS ADVISORY Our team profile
We have assembled our team of Pensions Advisory experts from diverse, multi-disciplinary backgrounds. The result is a team of business people that understand pensions from many view points; as a Chairman, CEO, CFO, treasurer, HR director, non-executive director, trustee, member, employee, union representative, insurer, capital market counterparty, regulator, actuary and, overall, as a restructuring business advisor.
