Tech Track 100 winners announced

On Sunday 20th September, the 9th annual Tech Track 100 league table was published in the business section of The Sunday Times.  The table ranks Britain’s fastest growing privately owned Technology, Digital Media and Telecoms (TMT) companies by their sales growth over a two year period. Once again BDO Stoy Hayward was pleased to be a title sponsor.

Tech Track League Table

Despite the downturn, the league table identifies many innovative and emerging businesses from across the sector, who have defied the current economic climate and achieved significant growth over the last two years.  Winners range from telecoms service providers (Core Communication, O-Bit), IT Consultancies (Pirean, Smiths Consulting), software developers (IntelliFlo, Distribution Technology) to online marketers (Traffic Broker, Coast Digital).

The table highlights some positive indicators for the TMT sector for example:

  • Tech Track 100 companies achieved average annual sales growth of 69% over the last three years.
  • The top ranked company, The Hut Group, achieved average annual sales growth of 189%.
  • The combined sales of the 100 companies are £2.7bn, which is up from a total of £700m in 2005/06.

It has been a very interesting and extremely rewarding year for the TMT Team, meeting the Tech Track 100 companies, understanding how they achieved great success and understanding their future challenges.
