Joining the Tracker

Any mid market retailer with annual sales over £5m is welcome to join the Tracker. There are no membership costs or fees involved, and results are completely confidential, with no names or company specific details ever released.

Benefits
By participating in the Tracker you will receive additional weekly benchmarking information exclusive to contributing retailers. This allows retailers to:

  • Tracking movements in sales against the industry average
  • Benchmark sales against peers on a weekly basis
  • Identify strong and weak trading points within a period

How it works
Retailers email their percentage movement in like-for-like sales for the previous week to BDO. This figure represents the change in sales compared to the same period and same population of stores last year, and is submitted to the dedicated High Street Sales database.

Within 24 hours, average results for each sector are returned to participating retailers. Only these retailers receive the full data set. BDO administers the data handling and manipulation at no charge and participants receive a weekly report every Tuesday.
