G20 Construction Heatmap - Focus on China
Following on from the G20 Heatmap, BDO has produced an in-depth report looking at the construction opportunities in China for inbound businesses. What we found is that there are major opportunities in a number of sectors where inbound companies would be welcomed. Western companies do not need thousands of staff to capitalise on Chinese opportunities - the manpower can be provided by Chinese partners. But companies with ideas and innovative intellectual property in the construction field, and those with vanguard expertise in building, design, construction techniques and procurement of complex projects, can and should be taking advantage of Chinese opportunities. However, with this, comes greater tax and business operation complexity and our report sheds much needed light on the nature of those issues and how they can be overcome.
