Industry Issues

We invest time in keeping close to issues related to the Energy & Utilities sector so that we can quickly identify implications for our clients.

The energy sector is one of the fastest moving, global sectors. We monitor trends and also have the deep insight needed to anticipate industry issues for UK businesses which operate directly in the energy sector and its tier one supply chain. At the same time, we work closely with other specialist BDO sector groups to identify issues relevant to them related to their sector which are related to energy and the environment - including regulatory change, for example.

As the UK member firm, BDO also work closely with our colleagues in other parts of the BDO International network to deliver expert solutions to our clients who operate across borders. The issues discussed below are of particular relevance to our clients' businesses.  If your business is affected by any of them and you need help in understanding the steps you can take to solve them, please contact Marc Reinecke or your usual BDO advisor.

Carbon Reduction Commitment
Greenhouse Gas Emissions

The Nuclear Option
Clean Technology: Smart Meters

If these issues are relevant to your business then please contact Marc Reinecke, Energy partner and Head, Manufacturing & Inustrial Markets in London, Energy & Utilities Partner or George Quigley, Risk & Advisory Services Partner.
