Yorkshire pulls through – costs driven down, profits pushed up

This was another challenging year, but one in which hard work and true Yorkshire grit saw it emerge from the recession stronger, leaner and fitter. However, Yorkshire businesses are still paying the price, through weakened demand and constrained credit.

These are just some of the findings from The Yorkshire Report 2011. Now in its fifth year, this unique annual analysis of performance in Yorkshire’s top 150 companies is a barometer of the region’s economic health. It is compiled by BDO to help Yorkshire businesses benchmark their performance against their peers and the wider UK business community.
