The New Regulatory Environment.
What do you think about the many spheres of regulation that affect businesses today? At BDO we believe that the causes and consequences of economic turmoil will drive regulatory reforms. But, will our recessionary recovery be enabled or endangered by the nature of that reform?
In this report we give perspectives from a broad range of regulation including financial services, tax, employment law, corporate reporting and audit and corporate governance. With such far-reaching impacts on business, getting it right has never been more important.
The New Consumer (second report)
Set against a backdrop of a changing business landscape, this report discusses the changes in the commercial environment, how consumers are changing, and how those that serve and depend on them need to adjust their propositions accordingly. We believe the recession has merely accelerated or decelerated consumer behavioural trends that were already in play and that the UK consumer will continue to want to spend.
New Economic World Order (first report)
The implications of a new world order are changing our world; the way we live, our politics and our economy. To take advantage businesses need to be alert to the new order and be prepared to challenge existing thinking. This report outlines the implications of this change and presents our findings.

Very thought-provoking. I think more emphasis should be put upon the socio-economic shifts over a generation. The cultural change highlighted by the great Queen song 'I want it all and I want it now' is going to present a huge hurdle to jump - especially when coupled with the reduced work opportunities and years of debt repayment for those just out of school or university. This generation's mindset is drifting away from the traditional work ethic and towards a more balanced 'live for today' approach whilst still expecting the material rewards of life in the 21st century.
