Real Estate Private Equity Survey 2011

In January 2011, we carried out a survey of over 100 mid-market private equity and real estate senior decision makers to gauge the appetite for equity financing in real estate.
 
Our research shows that both private equity and UK real estate companies are optimistic about real estate investments opportunities in 2011. We found that:

  • Nearly two-thirds of those questioned are confident that investment activity will increase during the year
  • Many respondents are willing to invest significant amounts in property during 2011
  • Real estate businesses view borrowing as the main barrier to growth but a third of private equity players see lack of available opportunities as the biggest hurdle.

While the lending market remains constrained, those willing to adapt and enter into private equity partnerships are most likely to be the winners of the future.
