Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility

A landmark agreement between the UK and Liechtenstein means HMRC are offering a genuine (but partial) amnesty

In 2009 HMRC announced the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility (LDF). The LDF is launched on the back of a new Tax Information Exchange Agreement between the UK and Liechtenstein.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two countries is designed to eliminate all UK tax evasion with a Liechtenstein connection by 5 April 2016. Until that date, Liechtenstein is running a taxpayer compliance programme and HMRC is offering a special disclosure facility.
