Biography
John is a partner in the Firm’s Technology Advisory Services Group.
After becoming a Chartered Accountant in 1974, John built on his qualification by pursuing his interest in technology in business, gaining experience of commercial systems within major international plcs in the hotel, leisure and gaming sectors by reviewing, improving then running large scale management information and computer systems, latterly as Group Systems Manager in the one of the UK’s largest leisure based businesses.
John joined the Firm in 1986 as a senior IT consultant and became a partner in 1999. In his time with the Firm John has led numerous systems related assignments where his accounting qualification and practical experience of the design, operation and management of systems have combined well to assist clients in addressing a broad range of issues.
Recent work led or directed by John includes:
- Directing the project to develop IT procurement contracts on behalf of a major hospital company operating in the United Arab Emirates.
- Specifying, selecting then implementing finance and distribution systems for the agency of the Seychelles Government responsible for the purchase and distribution of commodities and foodstuffs into the Republic of Seychelles.
- Directing the IT due diligence required on the proposed acquisition of a Scandinavian software house on behalf of the potential purchaser.
- Working with a well known multi-brand restaurant group to develop an Information Systems strategy and select new software and systems.
- Assisting the largest hotel group in the Maldive islands with systems and process issues.
- Advising a bid team on the IT and IT management/operational requirements associated with the proposed acquisition of a large UK hotel group.
- Providing the Technology Support Service for 30 UK hotels belonging to an international hotel group.
