Biography
David has worked exclusively on forensic accounting assignments since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1998.
David’s forensic experience is broad but he specialises in providing litigation support to parties engaged in commercial disputes. He has experience of High Court work, as well as arbitration, mediation, expert determinations and Tribunals.
David also deals with many of the firm’s intellectual property related assignments, including disputes over royalties and losses arising from IP infringement.
He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Client experience includes
- Acted for the MCPS-PRS Alliance in the Copyright Tribunal in relation to the appropriate level of royalties due to composers from online music.
- Acted for a firm of accountants accused of negligence, David assessed the losses suffered, claimed to be €100m, following the unsuccessful launch of a telecommunications project.
- Investigated the nature and validity of costs, claimed to be $3bn per year, incurred by a global oil company for building platforms and drilling for oil in the Caspian Sea.
- Acted for the owner of patents for chemical formulae, David evaluated the loss suffered by the rights owner following the alleged disclosure of the formulae to a competitor.
- Assessed the losses, claimed to be £30m, suffered by a FTSE 250 company as a result of a failed IT project that would have resulted in the transference of back office services.
- David was joint secretary to the inspectors appointed by the DTI to investigate the affairs of the MG Rover group between 2000 and 2005.
