Biography

Brent leads the Forensic Accounting team in the North West. Brent has experience gained in over 350 cases acting as expert witness.

He has also acted as a Single Joint Expert and appeared at the International Court of Arbitration.

He is a member of the Academy of Experts, a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Brent is the current Chairman of the Fraud Liaison Panel for the Manchester Chartered Accountants (“MCA”) with Greater Manchester Police. Brent’s experience acting as party appointed or as a single joint expert includes:

• Expert Accounting witness in Ultraframe (UK) Ltd v Burnden Group plc. which is now a leading case on the calculation of loss.  Mr Justice Lewison commented “I bear in mind Mr Wilkinson’s repeated warnings about the unreliability of the accounting records.  I must therefore test any inferences I am inclined to draw against other evidence” •Expert Accounting Witness in Club Travel 2000 Holdings Limited v Murfin. His Honour Judge Pelling QC (sitting as a Judge of the High Court) stated “I am bound to say that I found Mr Wilkinson much the most persuasive and helpful of the …..experts”
• Expert Accounting witness in a US$70 million loss claim between a Russian mine operator and a US Mining equipment manufacturer heard in the International Court of Arbitraton •Expert Accounting witness in cases arising from the collapse of Arrows plc which involved over 100 companies and over £100million of losses.
