Wholesale Markets Risk and Regulatory Forum

The second Wholesale Markets Risk and Regulatory Forum is on Tuesday 7 February 2012 at 55 Baker Street. At this forum we will be discussing the much criticised and talked about FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) aimed at cutting down on offshore tax evasion by US persons.
 
FATCA, which will take effect in January 2013, represents a potentially complex and costly compliance task that is being forced upon financial services firms globally by the US tax authorities. Whilst the penalties of non-compliance are widely understood, many UK firms have yet to take action to assess their readiness for the new requirements.
 
Our guest speakers for this event will be Philippe Sebagh, a Member of the British Bankers Association FATCA working group and Yvonne Kunihira-Davidson, Director, Burt Staples & Maner LLP who are both experts in the Taxation and Regulatory Compliance aspects of FATCA regimes. Philippe and Yvonne will be joining us to share their deep industry insight and to stimulate debate on the implications of the latest regulations emerging from the IRS at the end of December 2011. We will also walk through the practical steps that need to be taken to ensure compliance with FATCA. This is a great opportunity to gain first hand insight on the practical impacts of FATCA and how to be ready for compliance.
