The role of the Finance Director has changed significantly over the years, with many being given the responsibility for IT with little or no formal training in this field.

Managing an IT team, developing or ratifying an Information Systems (IS) strategy, appraising an IT budget or capital investments without a broad understanding of the technology or industry best-practice can often be a source of anxiety.

These events will explore some of the key issues for those with responsibility for IT and look to answer questions often faced by Finance Directors in this difficult position. Topics covered will include:

• iPads - our staff want to use them but are they really a business tool and how can we manage them?
• Cloud computing – this topic is being talked up in every business magazine; is it a real option for mid-market businesses and what are the pros and cons?
