SIP trunking has been identified as a tool that can provide great scalability for companies.
Greg Eaton, head of product an IT at Arrow communications recently set out the benefits this type of VoIP (voice over IP) technology can provide for businesses.
He highlighted the flexibility a SIP service can offer to companies, noting that such systems can provide virtually any kind of outbound number.
Mr Eaton suggested this would be particularly useful for those that have a call centre making calls on behalf of their business.
"You might want to make it actually look like the call is coming from your local depot rather than a central location where someone might not recognise," he said.
The benefits of VoIP technology were recently hailed by Ershad Islam, product specialist for Telappliant, who suggested that smart spending in this area can yield a range of rewards for businesses that are willing to invest.
