Managers are happy in their current jobs, despite the difficult economic conditions caused by the recession.
According to a new survey from Lane4, called What's Motivating You?, 64 per cent of middle and senior-level managers suggested they are motivated by their work, with nine out of ten indicating a wish to stay put.
Despite an overall poor economic environment, some 35 per cent said that they would remain in their job even if the market improved, because they are doing what they want to be doing.
Dominic Mahony, Europe practice director of Lane4, said: "Our report demonstrates that motivation is generally high, and on the increase, and that the majority of employees are staying in their jobs out of choice rather than due to a lack of options."
The Bibby Industry Index recently revealed that nearly three-quarters of small firms feel positive about current trading conditions even though business output in the UK dropped by 12.4 points over the last three months.
