'Benefits outweigh difficulties' for BYOD

SolutionsPT.com has argued that the benefits of implementing a bring-your-own device (BYOD) policy far outweigh any of the difficulties associated with it.

It is fair to say that there are a wide range of considerations to take into account - for instance Andy Brewerton, country manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland at cloud storage firm Evault.com, recently underlined the importance of looking at data encryption.

General manager at SolutionsPT.com Phil Gillard acknowledged that security is one of the key disadvantages of BYOD.

However, he underlined the fact that these are being addressed on an ongoing basis and expressed optimism regarding future developments.

"What I'm seeing in terms of overcoming those problems is security software, which allows you to wipe all the data off a particular iPad or Android device in the event that it's stolen," the expert remarked.
