Companies taking on new apprentices will be making a positive contribution to national economic growth.
This is according to business secretary Vince Cable, who has announced the fifth annual Apprenticeship Week.
It is hoped this run of the event will become the largest conducted to date, with an official launch hosted at Channel 4 in London.
Many participating organisations are small firms able to apply for an incentive fund of £1,500 to take on their first trainee in the 2012/13 academic year.
Their productivity could be improved by the measure, as skills adviser for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Katerina Rudiger claimed apprentices can also increase an enterprise's competitiveness in their field.
"I'm pleased that the creative industries recognise this and we support all the work they are doing to increase the number of apprenticeships in the sector, particularly in small businesses," Mr Cable commented.
